Cortina, Hotel Cristallo celebrates 110 years with Montezemolo and many VIPs.

The suggestive display of fire and water with musical accompaniment. Great guests for the Gualandi family.
Also in attendance were Pierluigi Visci, editor-in-chief of Il Resto del Carlino and QN, and Gabriele Canè, co-editor of QN.

August 2011 – HUNT for the invitation to tonight’s grand gala at the Hotel in Cortina. Absolutely true, the elegant invitations have been sent out for a while, but there are those who hope until the last moment. Indeed, they’re right to do so because it will truly be an unforgettable night at the castle overlooking the Tofane mountains, dominating the valley, a gathering point for the international jet set.

The anniversary is significant, marking a historic milestone, the 110th birthday of the hotel, celebrated with a special mix: a water and fire show created by a fountain, music, haute cuisine, and fireworks. Welcoming the 400 VIP guests, arriving from all over Italy and from abroad, is the Bolognese family Gualandi, owners of the hotel. In the front row are the children of Paolo Gualandi, founder of Coswell, in order of age: Andrea, Michele, Paola, and Jacopo. A double celebration, as the Gualandi family also marks the ten years of managing the Cristallo: a period of success, with international recognition such as the World Travel Awards, which named the Cristallo the best Ski Resort in Italy in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, and 2010. But also the best Ski Resort in Europe in 2007 and 2009.

The program is still top secret, but it’s already known that the opening of the evening will be accompanied by the parade of vintage cars from the Cortina Car Club, chaired by Count Umberto Marzotto, with vice presidents Mario Caliceti and Diego Gianaroli from Bologna. It will be the occasion to award the honorary membership certificate to Luca Cordero di Montezemolo. Entrepreneurs such as Cristina and Arturo Ferruzzi, Guido Barilla, Norberto Ferretti, Andrea and Elisabetta Illy, Francesco Ponzellini (Editrice Compositori), and journalist Bruno Vespa are expected to attend.
